LEED Signage Project - TDS Center, Keene State College
My senior project consisted of an interdisciplinary group of students from Graphic Design and Architecture who collaboratively worked together throughout the spring semester to complete the LEED signage project. The Technology, Design, and Safety Center is a LEED Platinum building. Contributing to the certification credits, an educational outreach program for the building was proposed incorporating signage displays explaining the sustainable features of the building. During the spring semester, a team of three Architecture and three Graphic Design students designed signage exhibits, which educate the audience about the high performance building envelope, the all electric HVAC systems, solar hot water collectors, water conservation devices, the PV array, efficient lighting, ADA requirements, green materials, and some principles of sustainability behind the design of the building. The signage medium is based on traditional text-based graphics, digital media, and poster displays.
Funding for this project was granted from the President's Council for a Sustainable Future after I applied for a $400 grant to cover vinyl graphics, and the printing of the local map exhibit.

Half of the wood based materials come from foresting groups that are environmentally responsible.

100% of the building is powered by electricity in preparation for a green energy future.
